Located in Southern California, the Korakia Pensione, sits peacefully in the heart of Palm Springs. The resort is made up of two villas located across the street from each other. The "Moroccan villa", originally built in 1924, was home to Scottish painter, Gordon Coutts, whose adventures throughout Morocco inspired the decor of his home. It has been known to have housed many artists and celebrities over the years including Rudolph Valentino and Winston Churchill. The "Mediterranean villa" was home to silent film star, J. Carol Naish in the 1930's, whose love of Southern Europe and North Africa helped to shape the ambiance of this space.
In 1989, the property was lovingly restored and named the Korakia Pensione. Consisting of two historic villas, resting on 1.5 lush acres, with bungalows, guesthouses, gardens and pools. The resort is an eclectic mix of exotic mementos of travels in far-off lands and adventures of visitors past. These have all shaped the Korakia Pensione into an invaluably unique and special place to stay while in Palm Springs.

We've had the pleasure of staying here a couple of times and I have to tell you...words cannot even describe how beautiful this place is!
Start your day with a complimentary breakfast in their peaceful Moroccan courtyard. Explore the neighborhood in one of their complimentary bicycles, or lounge poolside with a good book. At night take a beautiful moonlit stroll downtown for dinner...only a couple of blocks away. Or call an uber, enjoy the nightlife in Palm Springs and come back to your little slice of heaven for a good night's rest. We're all about ambiance and this place has it in spades! The grounds simply could not be more romantic at night. Every detail is thought out. Lanterns and fire pits flicker under the desert sky while classic films are shown nightly on a cushion-filled patio outdoors. Korakia Pensione is only a 1.5 hr drive from Los Angeles, and yet when you are there you feel as if you are a world away. This place will always hold a special place in our hearts.
