Los Angeles Brunch Spots: Rose Cafe in Venice

220 ROSE AVE,
VENICE, CA 90291

One of our favorite brunch spots on the west side. They have two patios and plenty of seating which means we usually grab a table pretty quickly on Sunday mornings if we get there before 10am. They have a dog-friendly patio, so we like to stop here before we take the pups to the beach. Founded in 1979, Rose Cafe is a California classic. We love the funky decor, but we keep coming back for the Brioche French toast with Crème fraîche - it's a splurge for sure, but it's SO good. We're vegetarians and they have quite a few options. Other highlights are the Burrata toast and crispy Brussel sprouts. If you are looking for a place that serves killer brunch cocktails, you've found the right place.

Rose Avenue has experienced a major resurgence in recent years. It's a great place to spend a leisurely Sunday morning. Parking is scarce, but we usually find street parking within a few blocks if we get there early enough, or you can valet as well.

Rose Cafe also has a take out counter with pastries and coffee if you want to grab a bite and explore Rose Avenue. Nearby shops include Lily Ashwell, Monrow and Parachute home, to name a few. If this place looks familiar you may have seen their iconic rose mural on Instagram or the beautiful rack of potted plants in macrame hangers illuminated by the skylight above. If you are looking for a place that has great food and good vibes, Rose Cafe is a solid choice.
